Sugar cane is growing here too. A bit bland for my taste on the whole. They use it here for cleaning their teeth! Clearly it the cooking that happens when sugar is refined that turns it into a tooth rotter, So long as it's enzymes are alive it's all good!
Bananas of course! And plantains which are like big bananas but not so sweet. Plantains are a staple food here, fried in oil, mashed, and fried in more oil generally. I'm getting rid of a lot of those!
